A Healthy Freakshake
I've got a delicious treat for you -- a HEALTHY freakshake. Freakshakes are seriously intense milkshakes that often pile layers of desserts on top of a milkshake. I'm switching it up and bringing you a creamy smoothie and loads of fruit.
This recipe can be made with a variety of fruit and you can get very fun with the skewers. If I'd had them, I would have added a few silly straws or perhaps a mini umbrella or two. The idea is to really pile the extras on with abandon!
So, back to this healthy freakshake - it's easy peasey to make and very delicious. I hope you enjoy it and get creative with the toppings.
Makes 1 Serving | Prep Time: 3 minutes | Total Time: 5 minutes
1 cup almond milk
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup blueberries*
1 cup pitted dark red cherries**
1 cup ice
1/3 cup blueberries
1 peach, sliced
1 cup cherries
a couple sprigs of mint
Combine all the the smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until fully combined.
Place the toppings - blueberries, peaches, and cherries - on skewers.
Add the skewers and mint to the smoothie and serve immediately.
*I used frozen blueberries
**Definitely use frozen cherries, so you don't have to pit them!
