What is Sangria?

Sangria is a wine punch, originally from Spain. It's usually made with red wine, chopped fresh fruit, occasionally a liquor, and sometimes fruit juice or a simple syrup for sweetness. It's a vibrant and fruity cocktail that's refreshing and easy to drink.

This sangria recipe differs from your typical sangria in that we're using a bottle of white wine and skipping on any added sugars. It makes for the perfect summer cocktail.

Why you'll Love Peach Raspberry Sangria

This recipe is the perfect summer sangria for easy drinking on a hot day. With ripe raspberries and sweet peaches, it's a deliciously refreshing and light sangria drink.

This peach raspberry sangria is one of my favorite adult summer drinks. It's the perfect way to enjoy a hot day outside and pairs well with summer recipes like summer salads and fresh watermelon recipes

Enjoy it by the pool or while outside in the sun for added enjoyment.

Peach and Raspberry Sangria Ingredients

  • Dry White Wine - I prefer Sauvignon Blanc, but you can also use another dry white wine. A pinot grigio, or even a dry rosé wine will work and taste delicious.
  • Fresh peach slices - Make sure to use ripe peaches. You want them nice and sweet. If you prefer to use frozen peaches, those work great too!
  • Raspberries - Use frozen or fresh raspberries for a delicious tart flavor.
  • Soda water/club soda - Soda water adds a fun fresh fizz to this sangria.

How to Make Sangria

Sangria is incredibly simple to make. First, you'll prepare the fruit by washing and chopping the peaches into slices.

Next, combine the wine, peaches, and raspberries in a large pitcher. Refrigerate for 3 hours.

Add soda water to wine mixture and stir just before serving. You can use a slotted spoon to remove the fruit before serving, but I like to keep it in for more flavor.

Sangria Tips

To make ahead - If you're planning to serve this sangria at a party, you can make it up to a day or two in advance, but wait to add the soda water until just before serving so it doesn't lose its fizz.

Make non-alcoholic - If you prefer a drink with zero alcohol content, you can use Sprite or ginger ale in place of the wine for an alcohol free drink. It won't be quite as good, but everyone will be able to enjoy this summer mocktail.

Use frozen fruit - If you don't have any fresh peaches and/or raspberries, substitute frozen. It will be just as delicious since frozen fruit is typically picked at peak ripeness.

More Fun Cocktail Recipes

  • Blood Orange Whiskey Sour - With fresh orange juice, a little bit of simple syrup and your favorite whisky, you're sure to love this cocktail.
  • Tinto de Verano - This refreshing red wine drink is similar to a sangria, includes delicious orange and lemon slices and is another wonderful summer cocktail recipe to enjoy.
  • Watermelon Strawberry Sangria - If you love a fruity sangria recipe, you're going to love this one too. This one blends the fruit together and strains it to make a delightfully flavorful cocktail.
