This shake is easy to change up as well - if you don't like almond milk, you can use coconut milk or oat milk. You can sub out the cacao powder for cocoa powder. And, if you'd like to add a little protein, throw in a spoonful of peanut butter.


What You Need to Make this Shake

You only need a few ingredients to make this vegan chocolate milkshake.

  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 3 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 very ripe bananas
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 3 cups ice
  • optional toppings - dried raspberries, cacao nibs, fresh fruit

How to Make this Shake

You can make this shake in a snap. Follow these simple instructions.

  • Combine the cacao powder, sugar, banana, vanilla, and almond milk in a blender on high speed for 30 to 45 seconds, or until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Add the ice and blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, or until the ice is broken down and the drink is frothy.
  • Serve immediately. Top with optional toppings as desired.
