Cajun Butter Seafood Sauce

This delicious spicy cajun butter sauce is fantastic for seafood! Use it as a dip or in a seafood boil.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter 1 stick
  • ½ medium yellow onion finely diced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and Old Bay. Cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and hot sauce, if using. Stir until well combined and cook for 1 minute.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the fresh parsley. Spoon or pour the sauce over cooked seafood, use it as a dipping sauce, or toss it with a seafood boil.

Notes

Storage - leftover seafood boil sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
