Oven Toast Recipe

Here's to easily toast bread in the oven when you need to make toast for a crowd!

Ingredients

  • Bread of your choice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Move one rack to the lower middle portion of the oven.
  • When the oven has reached 350, place your slices of bread directly onto the lower rack in a single layer.

  • Allow the bread slices to cook for 4 minutes. Flip the bread and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Remove the slices of toast from the oven when they are golden brown and toasted to your liking.

Notes

Cooking Tips - You don't need to cook your toast on a sheet pan. But if you don't want to bake it directly on your oven rack, you can use a sheet pan with a wire rack to still allow for air movement.
Convection Cooking - If you use a convection ovenĀ instead of a conventional oven, your toast will cook about 25% faster. Keep a close eye on your toast, as your total bake time will be closer to 6 minutes (flip it after 3 minutes).
Storage - Toasted bread can go stale fairly quickly after you make it. If you plan to use your toast for croutons, bread pudding, or French toast, you can save it for up to 5 days at room temperature. Store it in an airtight container or wrapped in aluminum foil.
If you want to eat your toasted bread as regular toast, I would not plan to save it for more than a day. Do not store it in the refrigerator.
