You're going to love this delightfully crispy on the outside, tender on the inside baked halibut with a parmesan panko crust. It's so easy to pull together and results in a wonderful dish.
I'm a big fan of halibut - it's a firmer white fish than cod or tilapia and has more a steak-like texture. It still has the subtle, slightly sweet flavor we love in white fish. I also have a grilled halibut recipe that's delicious, but this recipe will be popular with people who are slightly skeptical about fish.

Flavorful Baked Fish Features
- This simple baked fish recipe is so easy to pull together and tastes fantastic!
- The combination of panko and parm with seasonings crisps up so well and perfectly complements the halibut without overwhelming it.

Baked Halibut Ingredients
- Halibut - a sweeter white fish with a firm texture. Perfect for even non fish lovers - it has a less 'fishy' taste. Choose a bright white fillet with no visible bruising or fishy smell.
- Butter - a little melted butter adds great flavor and keeps the crispy topping stuck to the fish.
- Panko Breadcrumbs - flavorful, light breadcrumbs that crisp up easily in the oven.
- Parmesan Cheese - creamy, savory flavor that adds richness to the crispy topping.
- Seasonings - you'll use fresh thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to season the fish.
