This delicious Boursin salmon pasta is truly exceptional! It's simple to pull together and requires very little hands-on time, making it a great weeknight dinner.
I'll show you how to make my favorite version of this viral recipe using protein pasta, fresh spinach, and tomatoes!

Salmon Pasta Features
- This baked salmon pasta recipe is so simple to pull together - no chopping necessary!
- The dish is ready in about 30 minutes and only requires a few minutes of hands-on time.
- The Boursin pasta provides a creamy base and gives the dish a rich, decadent flavor.
Pasta Ingredients
- Salmon - I recommend either buying skinless salmon (you can ask the fishmonger at the grocery store to cut it off) or cutting the skin off before using it. It's a little tricky (although not impossible) to remove the skin after baking.
- Boursin Cheese - you'll use one box of Boursin cheese. Any of the flavors work well - I used shallot and chive, but I've also made this recipe with the garlic and fine herbs one, and they're both great!
- Pasta - I recommend using a protein pasta with this recipe, it gives you a bit of extra protein and doesn't affect the flavor at all. I think a chunkier shape, like Rotini or Penne, pairs well with the other ingredients.
- Add-ins - I like adding cherry tomatoes, minced garlic, and spinach to this recipe. You can add other vegetables like bell pepper, zucchini, or yellow squash as well. Some versions add capers, which adds a nice punch of salt as well.
- Seasonings - I suggest seasoning the dish with a combination of onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. If you'd like to add a little heat, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes as well.

Boursin Salmon Pasta FAQs
To get pasta 'al dente' - which is a tender but firmer texture, cook it for the lowest time listed on the box. So if it says 11 to 13 minutes, cook it for 11 minutes. You don't need to rinse if after you've strained it, but don't add it back to the hot pot or it will keep cooking.
I don't recommend freezing this pasta dish. It doesn't reheat well - the pasta gets too mushy.
You absolutely can save ½ cup to 1 cup of the pasta water to thin the sauce, but with the spinach and tomatoes, I think the sauce is creamy enough. If you use a less watery vegetable like bell peppers, you should add some pasta water to the sauce.
