This homemade ground beef seasoning is easy to make and tastes so good! This recipe makes enough seasoning blend for 1 pound of ground beef.

It's perfect if you want to make tacos or burrito bowls or just need well-seasoned ground beef. It's got a little kick to it and great flavor.

It's a great savory spice blend that's easy to pull together with ingredients you probably already have in your spice cabinet!

Additionally, you can use this spice blend on all sorts of things! It's a great all-purpose seasoning blend that will work on roasted vegetables, chicken, and roasted crispy chickpeas.

Ingredients

Here are the simple ingredients you'll need for the best ground beef spice mix.

Ground beef, seasoning blend, and oil.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

If you'd like to like your beef on the spicier side, you can add ¼ to ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper or chili powder to this blend as well.

How to Make a Seasoned Ground Beef Recipe

The easiest way to use this seasoning mix is to make browned ground beef on the stovetop.

Combine all the spices in a small bowl. Stir till they are incorporated.

Heat a tablespoon of olive oil or other oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, press the one pound of beef into the skillet in a single layer.

Let the ground beef sauté for several minutes till browned and a crust has formed. Flip the ground beef over and allow to cook for 2 to 4 more minutes until it has browned on the other side.

Break the ground beef up into small pieces using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.

Create a well in the center of the beef and add the spices. Stir them for 20 seconds to heat them up and bring out all the flavor.

Then stir the spices into the meat and continue cooking ground beef till it is cooked through.

Serve immediately or store for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
