- Red Onion - use a small red onion. If you have a larger onion, you may want to peel back a few layers so the rings are smaller. Don't use an onion with any sprouting or that looks older - it will be too bitter! Here's how to know if an onion is going bad.
- Liquids - drizzle the onions with lots of lemon juice, olive oil, balsamic glaze, and honey. This sweet and salty blend mellows the bite of the onions.
