This recipe is a great weeknight meal! It requires so little hands-on time - you'll make a mix of seasoning to add to the meat, then let the oven do the work.
The result is juicy, delicious pork chops that are ready in under 30 minutes.
Baked Pork Chop Ingredients
- Pork chops - Using bone-in pork chops can help keep them juicier, but you can use boneless pork chops if you prefer.
- Olive oil - Olive oil will help the seasonings stick to the pork chops as well as help with a nice browning. If you don't have olive oil, you can use another neural cooking oil like avocado oil or vegetable oil.
- Seasonings - You'll combine smoked paprika, brown sugar, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and cumin to get the best seasoning for these pork chops. I think the sugar adds a necessary sweetness that brings out the flavors, but if you prefer not to use it, you can leave it out, or use about 3 tablespoons of this Pork Tenderloin Rub instead.
- Fresh lemon juice - The lemon juice is optional here, but I love how it brightens up the flavor in this recipe.

How to Make Healthy Baked Pork Chops

- Step 1: Mix the paprika, brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and cumin in a small bowl.

- Step 3: Bake at 400 F for 10 minutes in a preheated oven. Remove the pork chops from the oven and flip. Drizzle with any pan sauces.

- Step 4: Bake for an additional 7 to 10 minutes until the center of the pork chops reaches 145 degrees on an instant-read thermometer.

Tips for Making Pork Chops
Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your oven. When the pork is fully cooked, your meat thermometer should read 145 degrees.
Baking time will also depend on the thickness of the chops. If your chops are thick (closer to 2 inches), they may need an additional minute or two of baking time. If your pork chops are on the thinner side (1-inch thickness), check them after 16 to 17 minutes of total baking time to see if they are ready.
Storage
Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can use leftover chops in this delicious pork chop sandwich!

What to Serve with Pork Chops
