Green beans are a great side that pair well with so many kinds of dishes - serve them alongside some blackened tilapia, baked shrimp, or lemon pepper chicken thighs for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Here's how to make this easy side dish - it doesn't involve too many ingredients and tastes fantastic!

Green beans, olive oil, shredded parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, and spices.
  • Fresh Green Beans
  • Olive Oil (avocado oil or grapeseed oil will work too) 
  • Finely Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Kosher Salt or Sea Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder (2 cloves fresh garlic will work too)
  • Dried Thyme
  • Dried Oregano

Optional toppings - red pepper flakes, a squeeze of lemon juice, chopped fresh parsley.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 

Place the green beans in a large bowl and toss them with olive oil. 

In a small bowl, combine the parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried oregano.

Add the parmesan breadcrumb mixture to the green beans and toss to combine.

Spread the green beans out in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You can use aluminum foil to line your pan as well.

Bake the green beans for 20 minutes. 

Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

  • 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  2. Place the green beans in a large mixing bowl and toss them with the olive oil. 
  3. In a small bowl, combine the parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried oregano.
