This delicious prosciutto ricotta crostini recipe is easy to pull together and perfect for a canapes party or chill appetizer.
Ham and sweet cantaloupe is an irresistible combination, but the addition of the creamy ricotta cheese, drizzle of honey, and little greens take it over the top!
These small bites would be welcomed at any gathering and they're easy to hold and eat in a few bites.
Why You Should Make Prosciutto Crostinis
Crostinis are always fun - who doesn't like a little toasted bread with a fun topping? This easy appetizer recipe comes together in a few minutes and serves up to 10 people (2 pieces each).
This one is fantastic because it's the perfect salty-sweet-lightly spicy combo. The salty prosciutto and dollop of ricotta serve as the base. Then you'll mound the crostini with a delicious slice of cantaloupe (or other melon of your choice) and top with a lightly spicy hot honey.
This is one of my favorite appetizers because it's very flavorful and easy for guests to eat. It's the perfect summer appetizer.

Substitutions & Variations
Try some of these easy substitutions for a variety of flavors!
- Spices - add a crack of black pepper or some flaky sea salt.
- Fruit - sub the cantaloupe out for a few slices of sweet peaches or nectarines. If it's fall or winter, you can use red grapes.
- Fresh Herbs - add a few sprigs of thyme, oregano, basil leaves, or pieces of rosemary
- Preserves - sub the ricotta for fig preserve or strawberry jelly.
Storage
You can save the crostini for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. I recommend serving them at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving.
