This is the best seasoning blend - it's very easy to pull together and has a great combination of flavors.

The blend of aromatics, herbs, and citrus makes this salmon rub so good. It makes the best salmon and pairs perfectly with the rich butteriness of the fish.

Substitutions & Variations

Here are some optional additional ingredients to add to this spice blend.

  • Brown Sugar - you can add up to 2 teaspoons of brown sugar to this blend if you'd like some sweetness and caramelization on your salmon.
  • Black Pepper - feel free to add up to ½ teaspoon of black pepper to this blend if you want a peppery kick.
  • Chili or Cayenne - you can add red pepper flakes, chili powder, or a pinch of cayenne if you'd like some heat in this blend.

Storage

You can store this seafood seasoning in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

I recommend keeping your spices and spice rack at room temperature in a cool, dry place (not stored next to the stovetop or oven, if possible.)

Tips for Making this Recipe

Marinade Tips - to make this blend into a salmon marinade, mix the spice blend with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. You can add fresh herbs like chopped parsley if you'd like as well.

Ingredient Tips - for best results and the most robust flavor, make sure your spices are still pungent. Give them a sniff before using them in this recipe - if your spices don't have a strong smell or are older than a year old, I'd recommend replacing them.
