This fantastic strawberry salad dressing is so good on a strawberry spinach salad or a simple green salad with leafy greens! It's the perfect summer salad dressing when strawberries are at their peak!

Ingredients

Here are the simple ingredients you'll need to make this easy strawberry vinaigrette recipe.

Chopped fresh strawberries, a halved lime, olive oil, salt, honey, and red wine vinegar.
  • Fresh Strawberries - use the ripest strawberries you can find. This salad dressing is best during strawberry season (spring and summer). The strawberries form the base of the dressing and are the star of the show!
  • Red Wine Vinegar - adds a little bit of acid to the salad dressing. You can substitute this for apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar, and balsamic vinegar as well.
  • Honey - adds some lovely sweetness to the dressing.
  • Lime Juice - use freshly squeezed lime juice for maximum flavor! Adds a citrusy punch to the dressing and brightens up the berries.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil - helps to emulsify the ingredients and adds some smoothness to the vinaigrette.
  • Sea Salt - add a little pop of salt to help brighten up all the other ingredients.

In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, vinegar, honey, lime juice, olive oil, and sea salt.

Blend till fully combined and creamy.

Tips for Making this Recipe

Preparation Tips - While strawberry greens are edible, make sure to remove them before using the strawberries in this recipe. If you leave them on the berries, the dressing will not be bright red!

Recommended Tools - You'll need a food processor or blender to fully break down the strawberries into a puree.

Diet/Allergy Alternatives - if you'd like this recipe to be vegan, substitute the honey for maple syrup.

Storage

  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • ½ tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
