This delicious, high-protein cottage cheese pizza dough is easy to make and can be topped with any of your favorite toppings!
I'll show you how to make my favorite recipe with mozzarella, tomatoes, olives, and basil. It's a super easy recipe and makes a tasty pizza that's great for lunch or dinner.

Why You Should Make Cottage Cheese Pizza
- A delicious and easy-to-make cottage cheese pizza that tastes great and keeps you full!
- Top it with any of your favorite toppings. I love to make a veggie supreme with this dough for great fiber and protein.
Pizza Ingredients
- Cottage Cheese - I like to use a full-fat, small curd cottage cheese. Because you don't blend it, I think a small curd works better for a smoother dough.
- All-purpose Flour - you can use all-purpose flour or substitute for white whole wheat flour or bread flour. I've tried it with all of them, and it works well!
- Salt - adds seasoning to the dough and helps the flavor of the cottage cheese shine.
- Garlic Powder - adds some delicious garlic flavor to the dough. I don't recommend substituting for fresh garlic, but if you want to use fresh garlic, you could add some to the tomato sauce.
- Tomato Sauce - buy a small can of tomato sauce. I usually buy the 8-ounce cans, and you can use half and freeze the other half to add to pasta, chili, or for another pizza.
- Italian Seasoning - use a storebought blend or make your own homemade blend.
- Shredded Mozzarella - use a low-moisture mozzarella so it doesn't release too much water into the dough.
- Optional Toppings - green and black olives, basil, cherry tomatoes, or pepperoni

How to Make Cottage Cheese Pizza Dough

- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the cottage cheese, flour, salt, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Stir with a spoon till the cottage cheese is covered in flour, then knead till the dough comes together and can be shaped into a ball.

- Step 2: Roll out the dough with a rolling pin or stretch with your hands (you may need additional flour if it’s too sticky). Form into at least a 12-inch circle and place on a parchment lined sheet pan. Roll the sides up about ¼-inch to create a lip. Bake for 10 minutes.

- Step 3: Remove the dough from the oven and spread the tomato sauce across the dough, leaving a ½ inch gap along the edge of the dough. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

- Step 4: Top with mozzarella and optional toppings like sliced olives, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil (I like to bake the pizza with half the basil and add the other half after it’s baked).

- Step 5: Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until crust is crispier and lightly golden.
Tips for Making this Cottage Cheese Pizza
- Cooking Tips - I highly recommend cooking the pizza on a piece of parchment paper or silpat. The dough is stickier than regular pizza dough and will stick to a sheet pan if it's cooked directly on it.
- Ingredient Tips - If you are using tomatoes, I suggest using cherry or grape tomatoes as they will release less water. Larger tomatoes should be patted dry and have the seeds removed before adding to the pizza.

Make Ahead & Storage
- To Make Ahead - you can make the dough up to 3 days in advance and store in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Storage - leftover pizza will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
- Reheat - I recommend reheating in the oven so the dough crisps up again. Reheat at 350 F for 5 to 8 minutes.
