How to Make this Recipe

Melt the Chocolate - You'll melt the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips in the microwave (or on the stovetop) for 1 ½ to 2 minutes, stirring often to make sure it's not burning. Stir till all the pieces have melted fully. Stir the peppermint extract into the chocolate.

Pour Chocolate in Mold - Pour the melted chocolate into the silicone ice cube tray. Spread evenly between at least 10 molds.

Add the Spoons - Add a bamboo or other lightweight spoon to each of the molds with chocolate.

Top with Marshmallows - Top the chocolate with a tablespoon of mini marshmallows.

Refrigerate - Refrigerate the chocolate spoons for at least 1 hour to let the chocolate harden.

How to Use - Pop the hot chocolate spoons out of the silicone ice cube mold. Heat a cup and a half of milk on the stovetop or in a microwave, add to a mug, and stir the hot chocolate spoon in the hot milk till it's fully combined.

Specialty Ingredients - Dehydrated mini marshmallows look really cute on these spoons. Sometimes you can find them at the grocery store, or you can get a pack online as well. I used the Spice House Peppermint Extract for this recipe and it's great!

Recommended Tools - I highly (highly!) recommend using a silicone ice cube tray for this - it's so much easier to pop the chocolate out of silicone molds. Here's the silicone ice cube tray I have. I also recommend bamboo spoons or another lightweight spoon as they will stay upright in the chocolate easier. Here are the bamboo spoons I used.

Storing Tips - Store these hot chocolate sticks in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Diet/Allergy Alternatives - If you'd like this recipe to be vegan, you can use dark chocolate chips or vegan chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate.

I think a little bit of clear plastic and a red ribbon could be cute! You could also use a square of parchment paper and ribbon or twine as well.
