See the recipe card for quantities.

Instructions

- Step 1: Peel the onions and thinly slice them into rounds. About ¼ to ⅛ inch thickness.

- Step 2: Brush the onions with oil and season them on both sides.

- Step 3: Heat a grill to medium high heat and once hot, place the onions on the grill. Grill on each side for 4 to 6 minutes, or until grill lines have formed.

Tips for Making this Recipe
- Ensure the grill is very hot before adding the onions - it should be at least 350 degrees F. You want the onions to sizzle when they hit the grill - this will give you the best grill lines!
- Make sure to buy the freshest onions you can find - they shouldn't be sprouting, have any bruising or mushy spots, and should smell sweet. See our post on How to Tell if An Onion is Bad for more information.
- You can use other types of onions in this recipe; see our post on Types of Onions and How to Use Them for more ideas.
