Radishes are a lightly spicy, root vegetable eaten around the world. They come in all sorts of colors - red, pink, purple, white, green, black, and yellow.

Radishes are usually grown in the colder months and are at their best in winter and spring. Some types of radishes have two growing seasons - like watermelon radishes that are available in spring and fall. Cherry radishes are available in grocery stores year-round though.
